Dr. Raymond Wise, guest musician for Bluffton University's celebration of gospel music the week of Nov. 6, will discuss the topic at a campus forum at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 8, in Yoder Recital Hall.

His presentation, "Exploring the Significance of African-American Sacred Music," is free and open to the public.

Wise, from Columbus, is a composer, arranger, gospel historian and minister. While at Bluffton, he will also speak at an 11 a.m. chapel service on Thursday, Nov. 10; deliver the 9 a.m. keynote address during a conference on Saturday morning, Nov. 12; and, that evening, direct a 200-voice combined choir during a 6 p.m. gospel concert in Founders Hall. The concert, also free, will conclude the weeklong event, "Blended Voices: Music and Worship in the Gospel Tradition."
