Keeping Active free programs continue at BFR
The fourth week of Keeping Active’s free fitness and nutritional programs is underway at BFR Sports & Fitness. The week will feature a Family Fun Night, plus free walking days, exercise classes and demonstrations.
The Family Night will be offered on Friday, Feb. 8 from 6-8 p.m. As part of the activities, Bluffton University will provide an informational session on “Making Easy Choices for Family Meals.” This presentation will begin at 7 p.m. and will feature ideas and resources for busy families to create new, healthy meals. Also included in Family Night will as group games (tag, dodgeball and kickball).
Free time for physical activity will be open adult soccer on Wednesday from 7-9 p.m. Free use of the indoor track will be available all day on Saturday, Feb. 9, Sunday Feb. 10, Wednesday, Feb. 13, and Thursday, Feb. 14.
Several fitness classes will be offered free to current as well as new attendees. Water exercise classes will be offered without charge on Monday, Feb. 11 and Tuesday, Feb. 12. Level 1 classes are offered at 9:30 a.m. on both days; Level 2 classes (longer cardio unit and more weight training) are offered on Monday night at 6 p.m. and Tuesday morning at 8:30 a.m. Water classes are held at Maple Crest Senior Living facility on Augsburger Road; the indoor pool is located on the lower level. On Thursday, Feb. 14, a noon time session of TBC (total body conditioning) will be offered. TBC is a 30-minute group workout led by a BFR staff trainer.

BFR is a private, non-profit organization providing sport and fitness options for all ages. All BFR programs are open to the public; membership is required to use the fitness center, however.
