Free social media workshop Friday morning in town hall
Would you like to improve your Facebook page? Do you want to attract more viewers to your page? Do you have question about social media that you've been afraid to ask?
Don't worry. A free social media workshop sponsored by the Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce is planned at 8:45 a.m., Friday, April 12, in the third floor of the town hall.
The event is open to the public, but requires an RSVP to [email protected]. This free workshop could cost $75 or more, but is held as an incentive for persons to join the chamber.
Several Bluffton University students, led by student Jane Raines, will lead the workshop.
It will focus on several social media aspects not touched upon in previous chamber social media workshops. Its main focus is Facebook and also LinkedIn, Twitter and QR codes.
Students will show steps in setting up a Facebook account and will make suggestions to persons who already have Facebook. Handouts will be provided focusing on business Facebook pages.
“We’ll offer suggestions on updates, contests and events that can make Facebook sites more inviting,” Raines said.
Persons attending will also learn about QR codes and how to set them up to link to websites from flyers, Facebook and business cards.
The workshop follows the April chamber breakfast, also open to the public, with RSVP required.
Katherine Kreuchauf, president of the Findlay-Hancock County Community Foundation, is the breakfast speaker.
The breakfast is free and open to the public. It also takes place in the third floor of the Bluffton town hall. Breakfast serving starts at 7 a.m. and the meeting begins at 7:30 a.m.
Jeanne’s Kitchen will serve breakfast. The breakfast sponsor is First National Bank.
The Findlay-Hancock County Community Foundation, 101 W. Sandusky St., Findlay, works to improve the quality of life in Hancock County through collaborative leadership, responsible grantmaking, and the development of philanthropic giving.
