Can you read 20 minutes a day?
Attention Bluffton elementary students: Keep reading!
Bluffton elementary students are invited to participate in a voluntary “reading challenge,” according to Tim Closson, elementary principal.
The challenge continues through the end of the school year. The school encourages reading of at least 20 minutes day.
He explains the challenge in the letter posted below this story. In addition, a reading challenge letter with additional details is also posted.
Here’s the reading challenge summary:
The school invites student to log their reading minutes. When a student reaches a 250-minute increment, the student may take a photo and send it to their teacher.
Prizes will be rewarded for each 250-minute read. Every student who reads 1,000 minutes by the end of the school year will earn a “reading challenge” t-shirt provided by the Bluffton PTO.
Complete detail are displayed under “reading challenge” on the elementary webpage. This is a voluntary program and no grades are given.
• Attached in the red box at the bottom of this story is a printer-friendly reading log.
• The Bluffton Icon will also post photos of students who have a photo taken once they reach the 250-minutes increment.
