Ada cancels summer football fest' and Harvest and Herb fest'
FROM ADA ICON - Ada Area Chamber of Commerce announced this morning that it will cancel two summer festivals:
• Made in Ada Football Festival,
originally set for Saturday, Aug. 22
• Harvest and Herb Festival,
originally set for Saturday, Sept. 26
Heather Cox, chamber president said, “The health and safety of the Ada community and businesses is our main priority. After speaking with the Hardin County Health Department, the Chamber Board of Directors has decided to cancel both the Made in Ada Football Festival and the Harvest and Herb Festival this summer.
“With festivals, we are not able to meet the crowd size and social distancing guidelines. We appreciate your continued support and patience during this time. We remain committed to the Ada community and look forward to hosting both of these great events in 2021.”
Pops concert moves to Labor Day
Another Ada annual event, the sixth annual Patriotic Pops Concert, featuring the Lima Symphony Orchestra, has been rescheduled for Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 7, at 7 p.m. at Ohio Northern University.
The concert, which is free and open to the public, will be held on the sculpture mall east of McIntosh Center, between Presser and Weber halls. The King-Horn Center Sports Center will serve as a back-up venue in case of inclement weather.
The concert was originally planned for July 2. However, restrictions caused by the COVID-19 situation have caused the event to be rescheduled.
