Karen King worked for Westinghouse and Honda
Karen King, 73, of Cairo, passed away on Wednesday, July 13, 2022 at her home. She was born on September 21, 1948 in Ottoville to the late Edward and Lucille (Ellerbrock) Sanders.
She married her love, Jim King on May 10, 1975 and they lived together in Cairo for 44 years until his recent passing on October 22, 2021.
She is survived by her daughter, Mandy (Wes) Klinger of Bluffton; four grandchildren: Emma (Levi) Klinger, Grant Klinger, Leah Klinger, and Kate Klinger; three sisters: Sister Anna Marie Sanders of Dayton, Mary (Mike) Hoverman of Maumee, and Barb Sanders of Columbus; brother, Jerry (Judy) Sanders of Wisconsin; and sister-in-law, Linda Wilson.
In addition to her husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Tom Sanders; and her sisters, Marilyn Yates and Carol Meyer.
Karen had an absolute zest for life, love, and her precious family. Karen graduated from Lincolnview High School, class of 1966. She retired from Westinghouse and Honda and she was a fast friend to many. She and her darling Jimmy had many travel adventures through the years, but she also loved being with her grandchildren and attending all their events. She was a champion chocolate chip cookie maker and passed down her secrets to the next generation. She made the world a more beautiful place in many ways and enjoyed many summers cultivating her yard with flowers.
Her family would love if you would celebrate Karen’s life by planting pink (her favorite color) flowers in memory of her.
Her family will receive friends on Sunday, July 17, 2022 from 4-8 p.m. at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, Lima. A funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. on Monday, July 18, 2022 at the funeral home. Fr. Paul Matthew will officiate. Burial will follow at Gethsemani Cemetery, Lima.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association in Karen’s honor. Online condolences may be made by visiting www.chamberlainhuckeriede.com.
