Village of Bluffton reminder of electric aggregation provider, solicitor permit requirements
By Paula Pyzik Scott
In response to reports of "some solicitors spreading inaccurate information about the current Allen County Electric Aggregation program," Village Administrator Jesse Blackburn has provided the following reminder about the offer available for Bluffton residents from 2023 through December of 2025.
"The current supplier of energy through the aggregation program is Dynegy and the rate is $0.06574 per kWh." A letter with this information was mailed to residents on October 13, 2023.
Additional information and frequently asked questions can be found at https://www.dynegy.com/municipal-aggregation/communities-we-serve/ohio/A...
Call Dynegy at 888-682-2170 for more information. Phone service hours of operation are 7:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. (CST) Monday-Friday.
Bluffton Police Chief Ryan Burkholder issued a reminder on Facebook regarding requirements for solicitors in the Village:
"We've received some complaints about energy solicitors in town recently. The solicitors state they are with KIWI Energy.... It sounds like those with KIWI are not being 100% truthful while speaking with residents. Please feel free to report if someone from KIWI Energy comes to your door as that company has not been issued a permit to solicit in town.
"Anyone that comes to your door without a Village of Bluffton Solicitor Permit that is visible on their outermost layer of clothing is in violation of local ordinance and should be reported."
