Bluffton University will host an artist reception for John Blosser, painter, and TR Steiner, ceramicist, from 10 a.m. to noon, Saturday, Oct. 2, in the Grace Albrecht Gallery of Sauder Visual Arts Center, South Spring St. near College Ave.
The event is part of Bluffton’s Homecoming and Alumni Weekend 2021 activities. The exhibit featuring their recent work is currently on display and will be open to the public through Oct. 19.
Gallery hours in the Sauder Visual Arts Center are 9 a.m -5 p.m. weekdays and 1-5 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays.
Fall sales for the Bluffton Bread Company, a Bluffton University student program, will run Oct. 1-Nov. 25. Two flavors are for sale:

On October 1, students, faculty, alumnia, and the Bluffton community gathered for groundbreaking ceremonies for a $10 million science center on the Bluffton University campus.
The Bluffton volleyball team lost a close five-setter at home to state-ranked Lincolnview in a Northwest Conference battle Thursday evening, September 30.
The Lady Pirates fell to 10-7 overall and 2-3 in the NWC with the 25-16, 23-25, 25-17, 19-25, 15-12 defeat.
Lincolnview, ranked 16th in the Ohio Div. IV poll, improved to 11-3 overall and 5-0 in the NWC with the hard-fought victory. The teams traded set wins as Lincolnview took the first, third and fifth sets.
Dale A. Walters, 86, passed away September 30, 2021 at the Hilty Memorial Home, Pandora. Dale was born March 22, 1935 in Beaverdam to the late Elmer "Pete" and Carrie (Bailey) Walters. On June 14, 1975 he married Diana Casady Walters who survives.
