The host Bluffton boys soccer team shut out backyard rival Allen East 5-0 in a Northwest Conference match Monday night at Steinmetz Field.

Bluffton improved to 7-2-1 and 2-0 in the NWC with the whitewash victory. The Mustangs fell to 1-6-1 and 0-2-1 in league play after suffering the defeat.

Pirate Kaden Basil scored the first goal just 2:25 into the match off an assist by Jude Spallinger. 

Saturday, September 25 is the final Discovery Day of the seaon in and around Bluffton. The Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce coordinates promotion of activities and a Bluffton Bucks prize drawing: ExploreBluffton.com/discovery

William “Bill” Faine, 59, passed away on September 18, 2021 at Blanchard Valley Hospital, Findlay.  Arrangements are incomplete at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Bluffton.

Brandon Freytag, Bluffton University class of ’08, cofounder and president of talent at Loaded, will share “Gaming: From Passion to Profession” at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 21 in Yoder Recital Hall. The Forum presentation is free and open to the public. Masks are required.

This event is POSTPONED due to storm forecast.

The public is invited to a presentation on John Dillinger’s Bluffton bank robbery given by Fred Steiner at 7 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 21, in the Bluffton Presbyterian Church gazebo, 112 N Main.

The program is the monthly meeting of the Western Ohio Chapter of the Lincoln Highway Association, according to Scott Little, event organizer.
