Columbus Grove High School presents "The Drowsy Chaperone,” a parody of American musical comedy in the 1920s.
Performances are 7 p.m., Friday, March 23, and 7 p.m., Saturday, March 24, in the Columbus Grove auditorium.
The story concerns a middle-aged, asocial musical theatre fan as he plays the record of his favorite musical, the fictional 1928 hit The Drowsy Chaperone.
The show comes to life onstage as he wryly comments on the music, story and actors.
Transition Bluffton is pleased to present an informative session on vegetable and organic gardening with Amanda Wischmeyer of the Little Riley Creek Farm. Topics will include plant starting, weed control, soil treatment, and organic techniques and will be followed by a question and answer session.
The event is open to the public at no charge and will be held on Tuesday, March 20, at 7 p.m. the third floor meeting room of the Bluffton town hall.
Bluffton native Micah Sommersmith is the next performing on the Bluffton Town Hall Concert Series, according to Jeff Yoder.
The performance is at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, March 22, in the third floor of the town hall. It is free and open to the public.
Born and raised in Bluffton, Micah Sommersmith has slowly made his way across the midwest, currently living in Wisconsin after stops in Indiana and Illinois.
Along the way, he has developed a unique songwriting voice, drawing on diverse musical influences from folk to hip hop to classical.
Explore the emerging spring season with the Hancock Park District on Tuesday, March 27, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at “Spring Break Camp: Signs of Spring.” Camp will take place at the Richard S. “Doc” Phillips Discovery Center at Oakwoods Nature Preserve.
On Saturday, March 24, ArtSpace/Lima will host an enrichment event designed to engage young children and their parents in an exciting gallery experience.
Art educator, Linda Lehman, will lead children in a painting activity that relates to artworks the children will view in the Kewpee High School Art Invitational Exhibit. The children’s activity will be held from 11 a.m.-noon and will be limited to 20 children. The activity is designed for children 8 years old and younger.
