Parent-son bball shooting clinic April 24 at BHS

Any boy from grade 3-12 and parent are invited to a shooting and individual skill clinic instructed by Todd Boblitt, head boys' basketball coach at Bluffton High School.

This clinic is free and will be held at Bluffton High School from 10 a.m. to noon, Saturday, April 24.

Both son and parent need only bring tennis shoes and athletic pants. The morning will start with individual skill work for both parent and son.

Female singer-songwriter next performer on Town Hall series

Gina Holsopple is the next performer on the Town Hall Concert Series, sponsored by the Bluffton Cultural Affairs Committee, according to Wendy Chappell-Dick of the committee.

Holsopple, a singer-songwriter based in central New York, will perform at 7 p.m., Thursday, April 29, in the third floor of the town hall. Admission is by donation.

May 6 deadline to form Relay for Life team

There is still time to form a team for this year's Bluffton Relay for Life. This year's event is Friday and Saturday, June 26-27 at Saltzman Stadium at Bluffton University.

Jesse Henry and the Royal Tycoons perform here April 24

Former Bluffton resident, Jesse Henry will bring his band to Bluffton for a performance on April 24. The band, "Jesse Henry and the Royal Tycoons" will perform from 8 to 11:30 p.m., Saturday, April 24, at Tu Pueblo's banquet room.

Bluffton police department brings SafetyPup to town

The Bluffton police department this spring will continue its 20th annual child safety and drug education program for youth in the Bluffton area, according to Rick Skilliter, Bluffton police chief.

"We have found the diversified material and services of the National Child Safety Council to be positive and up-to-date," he said. "We have received several thank you letters from children and parents regarding this program."

Jenny Sylak performs senior piano recital April 16

Jenny Sylak

Jenny Sylak will perform her senior piano recital at 7:30 p.m., Friday, April 16 at Albion College, Albion Mich.

She will be performing works by Domenico Scarlatti, Franz Liszt, Franz Schubert and Bela Bartok.

Refreshments will be provided at the reception following the concert. The performance is free and open to the public.

Albion is about 2 hrs and 15 minutes from Bluffton, off of I-94. The concert will be held in Goodrich Chapel on the Albion College campus. She is a Bluffton High School graduate and is the daughter of Phil and Lois Sylak, 235 Grove St.
