Michigan folk singers perform Feb. 26 in Town Hall Series
Bluffton hosts two Michigan folk singers for the Town Hall Concert Series at 7 p.m., Saturday, Feb 26, in the community room of the town hall, according to Wendy Chappell-Dick.
The provides this information of the performers:
Though Pam and Andru have different styles and come from different generations, their love for Lake Michigan, the little town they share, and music of the people brings them together for this shared show.
Since 2001, Andru Bemis has wandered the ends, edges and in-betweens of North America more times than he can count.
His unmistakable voice, expressive self-taught styles on banjo and guitar (and occasional fiddle or banjo-ukulele), engaging stage presence, and exquisitely crafted tunes of travel and longing have earned Bemis rapid respect and a dedicated following throughout Mexico, Canada, the U.S., and beyond.
Andru's preferred mode of transport is Amtrak passenger trains, on which he has spent many months, performing almost nightly in cities and towns along the way. When no train is available, Bemis wends his path by foot, thumb, bicycle, bus, subway, ski and occasional airplane. http://www.andrubemis.com/
Pamela Chappell, a performer from the age of 8, has sung her way into the hearts of countless people in a wide range of venues. Her music is acoustic with a strong folk influence, and shades of jazz and blues. She has also performed standards, pop, and show tunes, and has graced the stage as a fine actor in dozens of productions.
She has a wide repertoire of children's music too, and loves singing with and for people of all ages. http://www.pamelachappell.com/ .
