It's Billy in Billy's Beach. And if you look closely near the top of the photo there's a small cricket on a green plant. Billy lives in the kindergarten room of Bluffton Child Development Center. Two photos below show students watching Billy and a close up of Bluffton's famous frog.
First National Bank is assisting in a benefit fundraiser for Tom Dukes, area resident and farmer, who is battling colon cancer.
A chicken barbecue with live entertainment is planned on Saturday, Jan. 10, at the Columbus Grove American Legion Post 516, 412 Plum St., Columbus Grove.
Pre-sale tickets are now on sale. Persons may dine-in or carry-out from 5 to7 p.m. The event will also include gun raffles, live and silent auctions and a 50-50 drawing.
Live music wlll be provided by Polly Mae starting at 9 p.m.
The Christmas season in a nursing home is often filled with carolers, family visits and special treats. Activity rooms fill with elementary school children singing favorite Christmas songs as Elders smile with enjoyment. Christmas trees adorn the lobbies, dining rooms and other places where space can be found. It is a festive time.
Erica Sheehan is the December Bluffton High School student of the month. She is the daughter of Mike and Sue Sheehan of Bluffton.
Erica is a senior at Bluffton High School and has a 4.000 GPA.
She is involved in Latin Club, Art Club, Math Club, Drama Club, National Honor Society, SADD (Student's Against Destructive Decisions); Domestication Club, NLSH, and also tutors. She attends Ebenezer Mennonite Church and is involved in the youth group. She also finds time to volunteer at St. Rita's.
