Grass taller than 7 inches may result in fines

The Village of Bluffton reminds residents of the 7-inch grass rule, which is a village ordinance.

The ordinance passed in 2013 (it's attached at the bottom of this story), states that grass, weeds or brush shall be cut, mowed and maintained not to exceed 7 inches.

This ordinance covers residential, undeveloped residential, business and industrial and agriculture areas (ag areas are not to exceed 15 inches).

The ordinance states that the village may fine property owners $100 per occurrence.
