The Bluffton Food Pantry's supplies are running a bit low and could use some reinforcements, according to Ed Yeager, board president of the Bluffton Community Assistance Program. Item may be delivered to St. John’s United Church of Christ.
Bluffton has a business weekend planned with several events on Friday and Saturday. Here’s the update:
FRIDAY
St. John’s UCC beef and noodle dinner
St. John's United Church of Christ, 223 W. College Ave., will hold a beef and noodle dinner from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., at the church. Persons may dine in or take out. The menu includes homemade noodles, beef, mashed potatoes, green beans, apple sauce, roll, assorted pies, beverage. Cost is: adults: $8; 6th grade-college: $5; elementary: $4; Pre-K: free.
State Route 235 between Township Highway 36 and First Street, in the village of Mount Cory, is closed for approximately one week for railroad crossing repairs. Traffic is detoured onto I-75, state Route 696 and state Route 12 back to state Route 235. Work is being performed by Safety Services Supply.

There’s something about reptiles.
That something was captured Wednesday at Bluffton Senior Center during an Our Version of Adult Learning (OVAL) program.
Daniel Hodges, naturalist with the Johnny Appleseed Metropolitan Park District, brought some of the district’s cold-blooded creatures to an appreciative audience at the center.
A winter sports parent meeting takes place at 7 p.m., Monday, Oct. 29, in the Bluffton High School gym. Any 7th through 12th grader participating in winter sports is required to attend with a parent and/or guardian.
