Will tour recently completed Mayor's Garden and Community Garden

The Allen County Master Gardener volunteers will meet at the Bluffton town hall on Wednesday, Aug. 15.  

The group will tour the recently completed Mayor’s Garden prior to the meeting and hear from the garden’s designer, Nanci Mistovich, on how she helped the village achieve their goals for the new garden space.

The Bluffton Food Pantry's supplies are running a bit low and could use some reinforcements, according to Ed Yeager, board president of the Bluffton Community Assistance Program.

Item may be delivered to St. John’s United Church of Christ.

Bluffton's 5th National Night Out - swim for free, eat for free, watch fireworks, lots more

The biggest event of Bluffton’s summer is Tuesday night Aug. 7. And, as always, it’s all free.

It’s the fifth annual National Night Out celebration held at the Bluffton Community Swimming Pool, according to Matt Olgebee, police department lieutenant, who chairs the event.

The Bluffton Police Department, in conjunction with the Pandora Police Department, sponsor NNO. Bluffton and Beaverdam-Richland Township Fire and EMS Departments also participate.

NNO is held from 6-9 p.m. with free pool admission all day.

Beam work will temporarily stop traffic on I-75 for short intervals for one more night, ramp closes next week

Interstate 75 northbound approaching the U.S. 68/state route 15 interchange, Findlay, will continue to be one lane tonight, and will be temporarily slowed or stopped for short intervals during bridge beam work.

Beginning at 9 p.m. tonight, I-75 northbound will be reduced to one lane approaching the interchange. The restriction will remain in place until 7 a.m. Saturday morning.

Also tonight, traffic in both directions will be temporarily slowed or stopped for short intervals from approximately midnight until 5 a.m. Saturday.

Clothes, other back-to-school items to be exempt from sales tax

A back-to-school sales tax holiday will be held this weekend in Ohio.

It is an opportunity for parents to receive some sales tax relief during back-to-school shopping in preparation for the upcoming school year. This year’s sales tax holiday was authorized in the state budget bill.
