The newest section the Bluffton pathway system will be dedicated at 4 p.m., Monday, Oct. 31, at the entrance of the new path on Augsburger Road near the Bluffton University athletic complex.
The $244,000 Lions Way-Augsburger Road pedestrian and bike path project was completed earlier this week as the final layer of asphalt was applied on Oct. 23.
The pathway connects Elm Street to the Riverbend residential housing development and Maple Crest retirement community. The path removes bikers, joggers and pedestrians from the busy Augsburger Road.
#IChooseBluffton. Towns like our's don’t happen by accident.
The hashtag and catch phrase is a new project of the Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce, according to Gen Akroyd, chamber director. And, she adds that the chamber encourages Bluffton businesses and residents to start using it.
She told the Icon: “The #IChooseBluffton Challenge is simple. Think about where your needs can be met locally before seeking them outside the community.”
Meet CHRS MSN. The Icon spotted this plate on a red Chrysler 300 S in the Mennonite Memorial Home parking lot in Bluffton. It has a Hancock County sticker. If Chris is viewing this, please tell us the meaning of this plate.
