As of Monday, Oct. 8, the United Way of Bluffton, Beaverdam and Richland Township raised is $3,986 out of the $24,000 which is 16.61% of the campaign goal. 

Donations are continue to be accepted at Citizens National Bank.

CHAMBER BREAKFAST
Peter Suter, co-founder of Shirley’s Gourmet Popcorn Co., Bluffton, is the featured speaker of the Friday, Oct. 12, Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce breakfast. Breakfast serving starts at 7 a.m. The program begins at 7:30 a.m.

The breakfast takes place on the third floor of the town hall. Jeanne’s Kitchen will provide the breakfast.

Area history buffs may now purchase a two-sided Delano Morey challenge coin from the Hardin County Historical Museum, Kenton. Coins are $20 each.

Morey was a member of the 82nd Ohio Volunteer Infantry (or 82nd OVI) an infantry regiment in the Union Army during the American Civil War. He was awarded the Medal of Honor for action at McDowell, Virginia, May 8, 1862. 

According to the historical society, the supply of coins is very limited.

Most of the Apollo Career Center programs offering customer service are now open with the exception of the all new Spa. The grand opening will be held Thursday, Nov. 1 at 11:30 a.m.

Normal business hours will be Wednesday through Friday, 11:30 a.m.-2 p.m. The new program, Spa and Esthetics Technology will perform services including facials, eyebrow arches, eyelash extensions, and waxing. To schedule an appointment, call 419.998.2901

BFR Sports and Fitness is offering a "buy one month fitness membership and get a second month free with a little work" in October.

The membership is open to anyone 14 or order, the member must complete 12 BFR designated workouts during the first 30 days to get the second month free, workout orientation and modifications are available as needed, and the membership must be purchased by Oct. 31.

Who ever drives a vehicle with this plate is certainly a Chicago Bears fan. Anyone who cares to try to explain the meaning of "RIB RIB," is encouraged to comment. The Icon spotted this plate in Ada during the Ada Harvest and Herb Fest in September.
