School may be out soon, but summer strings program is almost ready to begin.

According to Rachael Lewis, Bluffton schools string instructor, the summer program begins Tuesday, June 5. Sessions continue June 12, July 3, July 10 and July 17. (No sessions June 19 or June 26).

"The program is for students wishing to play their instrument during the summer," said Lewis. "This program is free and will be held in the strings or middle school band room. The students may come to as many of the classes as their summer schedule permits."

It's spring clean up time in Bluffton. The village has several dumpsters at the Spring Street recycling center available now through May 29, according to Jamie Mehaffie, village administrator.

"This will provide residents with 10 days including two weekend to take items to the center," he said.

What not to dump:
Household hazardous waste materials are not permitted to be disposed of during this period.

The village maintenance department has already had to pull more than a dozen tires out of the dumpsters. These are not approved for disposal.
