UPDATE: Consolation and championship game times on November 20 have been corrected.

This weekend, Bluffton will once again tip off the girls basketball season by hosting the annual four-team McDonald's Holiday Tournament.

The Lady Pirates will face local rival Cory-Rawson in the second semifinal Friday night, November 19 at 7:30 p.m. The Hornet girls are the defending tournament champion.

The first semifinal contest between Allen East and Arlington will start at 6 p.m.

The third-place consolation contest will take place Saturday at 1:30 p.m. (UPDATED)

Bluffton University is launching a search for a new head coach for the football program. Aaron Krepps’ position as head football coach was not renewed after serving in that role for four seasons.

“After four seasons we have not seen significant success on the field or in the direction of the program,” said Phill Talavinia, vice president for student life and athletics. “I want to thank Coach Krepps for his leadership with the football team over the last four seasons and wish him and his family all the best.”

Bluffotn University Junior Jake Baumgartner (Toledo/Start) has been named the Heartland Conference Special Teams Player of the Week after helping kick the Beavers to victory on Saturday.

Baumgartner was a perfect 3-of-3 on field goals and 3-of-3 on PAT's for 12 points as Bluffton put 'The Hammer' down on rival Defiance! He also kicked off six times with a 51.7 yards per kick average, including two touchbacks.

UPDATED 2 p.m. November 18 to correct November 20 schedule

Adjustments to the Boys & Girls McDonald's Holiday Tournaments at Bluffton High School were announced on November 15.

On Saturday, November 20, the Girls Tournament schedule was adjusted to make room for the Allen East community to attend their Regional Final Football game against Coldwater.

Game 2 Bluffton vs. Cory Rawson 7:30pm

The Bluffton University football team was better than rival Defiance in all three phases of the game as the Beavers retained 'The Hammer' with a convincing 30-12 win on a frigid Saturday, Nov. 13, 2021. Bluffton improved to 4-6 and 3-4 in the Heartland Conference thanks to wins over Manchester and Defiance the last two weeks. The Yellow Jackets saw their season come to an end with a 1-9 mark (1-6 HCAC).

The Bluffton University women's basketball team lost a 55-47 slugfest to Oberlin College on Saturday, Nov. 13, in the 2021-22 season opener for the Beavers. Oberlin stayed perfect at 2-0 following the victory.

Bluffton fell behind 12-5 just over six minutes into the opening period as the Yeowomen knocked down two early triples. A pair of Ella Zaborowski (Toledo/Toledo Christian) free throws and a putback by senior Brianna Gillig (New Riegel) made it 17-11 in favor of the visitors after one quarter of action.
