The Lady Pirate softball team is peaking at just the right time.
Bluffton won their 10th straight game and exacted revenge from an earlier season loss in an 8-2 victory over Spencerville in the opening round of the OHSAA tournament.
Birchaven Village will host a tribute to the United States Organization's (USO) shows of the past from 7 to 8:30 p.m., Saturday, May 19, at Birchaven Village, 15100 Birchaven Lane, Findlay.
Veterans, spouses of veterans and a guest are invited to a night of hors doeuvres, drinks and entertainment. The entertainment includes The Flag City Rock and Soul Revue, a Marilyn Monroe impersonator and the Hancock County's Marine Corps color guard.
Pandora Missionary Church will host a concert by the musician Beacon Light, at 7 p.m., Sunday, June 3, according to Matt Steiner, pastor. The concert's focus is on youth.
The concert is free and open to the public. The church is located at 300 Rocket Ridge, Pandora.
The Pandora United Methodist Church will be hosting a free community meal on Wednesday, May 30, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in the church fellowship hall, 108 E. Washington Street, Pandora.
The meal this month is provided by Sprunger Insurance. The menu is spaghetti, salad, garlic bread, dessert and beverage.
Theodore "Ted" Marvin Diller, 88, died May 8, 2018, at Blanchard Valley Hospital, Findlay. Ted was born Nov. 17, 1929, in Allen County, Ohio to the late Archie and Velma (Miller) Diller. On February 19, 1954, he married Joan VanMeter Diller who survives in Bluffton.
Ted was a graduate of Pandora High School, attended Bluffton College and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Ted was a member of Grace Mennonite Church in Pandora and past member of the Rufus Putnam Masonic Lodge in Columbus Grove.
