Wait…what???   Walk a mile?   Do 10 sit-ups?    Are you kidding? I can’t even do one sit-up or even walk to my car without being out of breath or something hurting!

28 Bluffton swimmers compete at BG; several personal records set

Bluffton swimmers’ results from Northwest Ohio YMCA-League Championships

Saturday and Sunday, March 10-11, 28 Bluffton swimmers competed at the Northwest Ohio YMCA-League Championships at Bowling Green State University. They competed with 792 swimmers from the Northwest Ohio league that includes 18 teams from lower Michigan and northwest Ohio.

Ny Still Waters Bistro (formerly Jeanne's Kitchen)

By Still Waters Bistro (formerly Jeanne’s Kitchen) took first place in the Soup Cook-off held March 8 at Maple Crest Senior Living Village. 

The restaurant’s offering of butternut squash soup garnished with candied pecans, lead the menu of seven soups all prepared by area eateries. 

Luke’s Bar & Grill’s creamy chicken and rice soup took second place, while cream of ham and potato provided by the Rowdy Rooster, Columbus Grove, was third. 

Saturday and Sunday, March 17-18

St. John Mennonite Church mission festival Saturday and Sunday, March 17 and 18, features Dan Wolgemuth, president of Youth for Christ-USA.

Wolgemuth will share about the ministry of Youth for Christ. In addition, other area mission organizations will be represented.

The weekend schedule follows:
• Saturday, March 17 - Men’s and women’s breakfast, 8:30 to 10:30 a.m., in the church gymnasium.
• Sunday, March 18 – 8:30 and 10:30 a.m. service

Romey and Steinhower Manufacturing 1880s-1895

Henry Allen Romey and a Mr. Steinhower started a furniture manufacturing business in Bluffton in the 1880s.

In the 1930-31 school year two vehicles were put in service. Later in the year another joined the fleet. Two additional buses were added in 1931-32. Here are the first five school buses taken during the 1933-34 school year.
