The Jane and Gary Heminger HeartCare Center, located within Blanchard Valley Hospital, Findlay, continues to be under the national average for “door to balloon” time.
Heminger HeartCare has a “door to balloon” time of 56 minutes. The national average is 60 minutes. This means it takes 56 minutes or less for the team at Blanchard Valley Hospital to re-establish blood flow to the heart muscle.
Dr. William J. Hawk ’72, professor of philosophy and ethical reasoning in action at James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Va., will present an Alumni Forum at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 27, in Yoder Recital Hall.
During his presentation, “Getting Past ‘What Happens in the Ethics Classroom Stays in the Ethics Classroom’: A Strategy for Better Decision Making,” Hawk will discuss research that suggests ethics instruction can improve real-world decision making.

Bluffton council will act on legislation on Monday that will put into motion the replacement of the Jefferson Street bridge over Riley Creek.
The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) project is on the 2019 project calendar.
ODOT and the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) will pay for the bridge replacement. Should the village request certain features not in the ODOT-FHWA plans, the village will pay for those features.
A start date and projected completion date are not yet determined.
A Bluffton Village Planning Commission meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. on Monday, March 12, at the third floor of the town hall. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss the Parkview Development.
Joyce Klein had only planned on working at Willow Ridge for a few months. She has found the experience so deeply rewarding that now she can’t even think of leaving.
“I lost my husband to cancer in 2016,” Joyce said softly. “He was just a beautiful person.” An 8th grade teacher at Allen East in Lima, Joyce arrived home by 3:30 p.m. and worried about spending the long evenings alone.
