Businesses, organizations and individuals invited to sponsor a flowerpot

Orders are now being placed for this summer’s downtown flowerpots.

According to Susie and Steve Stratton of Stratton Greenhouses, “This is our 12th year for providing the potted plants on Main Street.”

To make this happen Strattons invite contributions to keep the program going. This year the sponsorships are $130 per pot. If payments are received by Saturday, March 24, the cost is $120 per pot.

Saturday, March 24, at Ebenezer Mennonite Church

Ebenezer Mennonite Church, 8905 Columbus Grove Road, will hold its annual wild game night Saturday, March 24, at the church.

The evening's schedule follows:
• 5 p.m. - appetizers and exhibits
• 6 p.m. - meal, venison stroganoff
• 7 p.m. - John Norris of Fisher's of Men National Tournament Trail, featured speaker

Tickets are pre-sale only. Tickets are $15 each and are sold in the church missions center Sundays from 8 to 11 a.m. Tickets may also be purchased by phone at 419-410-4205.

On Feb. 26 The Bluffton HS academic team went 7-0 at the Bath Invitational tournament, placing first, according to John George, coach.

This qualifies the Pirates for the Ohio Academic Competition Regional Tournament on Saturday, April 27.

Onto the state semi-finals! Deandre Nassar, Bluffton High School wrestler, won his quarterfinal match Friday morning. He will wrestle in the semifinals tonight according to information from www.blufftonpirates.com.

Steven E. Knepper, 69, died March 7, 2018 at Blanchard Valley Hospital in Findlay.  Steve was born Feb. 4, 1949, in Bluffton to the late Gerald and Marilynn (Cupples) Knepper. On Oct. 9, 1971, he married Doreen Basinger Knepper who survives.

Steve worked as a plumber for M&R Plumbing and Heating, Bluffton, and was also a self-employed cabinet builder. He was a member of the Reformed Mennonite Church in Bluffton.
