Hosted at Blanchard Valley Hospital

The Blanchard Valley Hospital Auxiliary will be hosting a volunteer recruiting event to target individuals who are interested in working in the main campus gift shop. This initiative will take place on Saturday, March 3 from 10 to 11 a.m. in the Donnell Pavilion at Blanchard Valley Hospital.

Endangered Species aren’t just elephants, pandas and polar bears. There are also endangered species in Ohio: Lake Erie water snakes, Clubshell mussels, Karner blue butterflies, Eastern prairie fringed orchids, to name just a few. 

On Sunday, March 4, Hancock Park District presents “Ohio’s Endangered Species: Open House” to learn about Ohio’s 28 threatened and endangered species through activities, displays and a craft.

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - The Bluffton University women’s basketball squad took to the road to compete in the HCAC Tournament semi-finals against Transylvania University at Rose-Hulman on Friday, Feb. 23, 2018. However, struggles from the field haunted the Beavers for most of the contest as a 57-42 loss ended the 2017-18 campaign.

A child is lost, and it’s getting dark.

At 6 p.m. on Friday, a helicopter hovers overhead. Many rescue and law enforcement are on hand looking for the child.

There are boats and scuba gear in case he is found in or near one of the many farm ponds that dot the territory.

Neighbors join in the search. ATVs prowl the countryside. Residents, even two miles away, have been notified to be on the watch. 

Former Bluffton resident Margaret Diller Gagliardi, 89, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, died on Feb. 23, 2018.

She was a 1946 graduate of Bluffton High School and 1950 graduate of Bluffton College.

She was a home economics teacher at Bluffton High School in the mid-1950s and also taught in the Hamilton County School System. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph F. Gagliardi, Jr.; brother, Ron Diller; and parents, Paul and Verna Diller.

The Ladies Luncheon group will host a gathering on Saturday, March 3, at the Ada Visiting Nurses, 1200 S. State Route 235 in Ada. The event is free and open to the public from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.

The group includes local direct sales consultants who represent well-known companies, featuring personalized bags & totes, skincare and makeup, kitchen and household products, essential oils, jewelry and clothing, self-defense, home décor and health and wellbeing.
