Maple Crest Senior Living Village to Host Soup Cook Off and Silent Auction
Maple Crest Senior Living Village will host a Soup Cook Off and Silent Auction on Thursday, March 8, 4:30-6:30 p.m. in the lower-level patio room of the main building.
The Festival of Wheels planning committee meets at 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 28, in the town hall. This year's festival is Friday, June 15, in downtown Bluffton. Bluffton Lions Club sponsors the annual event.
Brent Warren of Jenera was named to the Dean's list for the fall semester at Eastern Kentucky University. He also received the Dean's Award for the fall of 2017.
This award is given to students who have been named to the Dean's List at least 3 times in their college career. Brent is a senior majoring in Fire Protection Administration and plans to graduate in May 2018.
He is the son of Bob and Becky Warren and is a 2014 graduate of Cory-Rawson.
NEWS FLASH - As reported earlier this week, the Bluffton High School orchestra received an Excellent (II) rating at this past weekend's music contest.
Rachael Lewis, director, informed the Icon today (Feb. 28) that a scoring error revealed that the orchestra actually rated "Superior" (I) at the OMEA State Orchestra Adjudicated Event held at Perrysburg HS on Friday and Saturday, Feb. 23-24.
The BHS orchestra performed on Friday night playing "Dia de Alegria" by Bob Phillips, "Shipwreck Beach" by Carole Neuen-Rabinowitz and "Rustic Dance" by Chris Thomas.
Along with the existing physics and math courses, two new courses developed specifically for the pre-engineering major will prepare students for engineering study
Bluffton University is now offering a pre-engineering major for students to explore and prepare for an engineering career in a liberal arts environment.
