University’s instrumental chamber ensembles will present their first featured recital at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 22.
Four ensembles will provide the music for the evening which will feature selections such as “Duo No. 1 for Clarinet and Bassoon, WoO 27” by Ludwig van Beethoven, “Pastoral” by Vincent Persichetti and an arrangement of “Adagio” from Symphony No. 3 by Camille Saint-Saens.
With a continued decrease in influenza through our community and a decrease in positive influenza admissions, Mercy Health – St. Rita’s Medical Center has lifted the restrictions prohibiting those under the age of 14 from visiting the hospital.
The hospital will continue to discourage anyone who is exhibiting signs of illness from visiting their loved ones so as to prevent any future spread of the flu.
The hospital encourages everyone to cover their cough and wash their hands.
Judy Greavu, former Bluffton College art faculty member and ONU art professor emerita, has had a sculpture accepted for display in Lakeland, Fla. The sculpture was one of 10 selected from 65 proposals for display along Lemon Street from now until the end of 2018.
Lakeland lives up to its name with two lakes in the heart of town with many pieces of sculpture near the water’s edge. Sculpture also can be found at a nearby park in the center of town as well as along downtown streets.
Mennonite Memorial Home, 410 W. Elm St., Bluffton, will hold an Easter egg hunt and bake sale, Saturday, March 24.
The Easter egg hunt starts promptly at 10 a.m.
The bake sale is from 9 to 11:30 a.m. in the MMH lobby. The sale includes a wide assortment of items includeing cinnamon rolls, homemade noodles and angle food cakes.
Proceeds from the bake sale support the Mennonite Memorial Home Service Group.
Transition Bluffton is pleased to present an informative session on vegetable and organic gardening with Amanda Wischmeyer of the Little Riley Creek Farm. Topics will include plant starting, weed control, soil treatment, and organic techniques and will be followed by a question and answer session.
The event is open to the public at no charge and will be held on Tuesday, March 20, at 7 p.m. the third floor meeting room of the Bluffton town hall.
