Repurpose those old shoes in your closet by giving them to Bluffton Family Recreation, 215 Snider Road.

BFR's repurposed shoe drive ends on Dec. 1. The fund-raiser helps BFR and provides shoes to people in need.

Bluffton High School senior Tristan Smucker was named second team All-Ohio in voting compiled recently by the Ohio Soccer Scholastic Coaches Association.  

Smucker was a team leader on Bluffton’s boys soccer team that made back to back trips to the OHSAA regional tournament.

Last year CG Pro Bikes, 127 N. Main St., and the Curling Iron, next door at 129 N. Main, became the first official smoke-free storefront properties on Main Street. The building housing those businesses is owned by Raymond and Liz Harner, who manager the bike shop.

Now a dozen additional Bluffton busineses have joined the smoke-free storefront effort, according to Shelly Miller, health educator at Allen County Public Health. The project is part of Creating Healthy Communities (CHC) Program at the health department.

Program Wednesday at Senior Center

Bluffton Senior Citizens Center will host a program titled "Identity theft self defense," from 2 to 3 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 29, according to Tonya Meyer, director.

The program is presented by Elder Victim Minisry of Crime Victim Services and takes place at the Bluffton Senior Center, 132 N. Main St.

Areas covered in the program include:
• Methods criminals use to access your identity
• Identity theft monitoring
• Identity theft recovery

BLUFFTON, Ohio - Senior Kaycee Rowe (Harrod/Allen East) has been named the Heartland Conference Player of the Week after leading the Beavers to a pair of non-conference wins sandwiched around Thanksgiving. It marks the second straight HCAC Player of the Week to open the season for Bluffton following Macey Sheerer (Bucyrus) who took home that honor after leading the Beavers to a win over #7 Ohio Northern last week!
