Andre Gilbert, MD, at Blanchard Valley Urology Associates received his Juris Doctor degree (J.D.) from the University of Toledo in August of 2017.
Dr. Gilbert shared, “I began law school in an effort to challenge myself while learning about a new profession, but I am committed to my first calling and will continue to provide exceptional care to patients requiring urological services.”
The Wednesday, Nov. 22, special Bluffton council meeting regarding the proposed establishment of an Energy Special Improvement District (ESID) by the Toledo/ Lucas County Port Authority has been cancelled, according to Jack Huber, village administrator.
It will be rescheduled for some time in early December.
A second special council meeting previously scheduled for 8 p.m. on Nov. 22 is now pushed back to 7 p.m.. That special council meeting is for the fiscal year 2018 budget.

It’s bedtime stories you’ve never heard performed by the BHS Drama Club.
The play's actual title is "Bedtime Stories (As Told by Our Dad) (Who Messed them Up). Performances are 7:30 p.m., (doors open 6:30 p.m.), Saturday, Nov. 18, and 2 p.m. (doors open 1 p.m.), Sunday, Nov., 19, in the Bluffton Middle School cafetorium.
General admission tickets are available at the door, $4 for adults and $1 for students.
A volunteer coalition of Bluffton residents will post the Ream Holiday Folk Art Display cutouts on the Presbyterian Church lawn starting at 3 p.m. on Friday, according to Lynda Best, who is working on the project.
The set-up is part of the Bluffton Cultural Affairs Committee, but with last January’s retirement by Terry Mullenhour, who chairs the committee, no replacement was made by the village.
“Because of a forecast of 100 percent chance of rain on Saturday, we will start at 3 p.m. on Friday,” she told The Icon. “We will try to finish Saturday, weather permitting.”

In a totally unexpected move, on Monday four members of Bluffton council voted to repeal the water and sewer surcharge that it enacted in the spring of 2016.
The legislation was not part of the original council packet, made available to the media, earlier in the week. It was added later and not released to the media in advance.
