ROANOKE, Va. - The Bluffton University men's basketball team opened its 2017-18 campaign in the Dick Leftwich Tournament against host Roanoke College on Friday, Nov. 17. Bluffton trailed just 20-18 with seven minutes to play in the first half but Roanoke turned that into a 12-point deficit at the break and the home team never looked back en route to a 70-55 victory over the Beavers.

Whether it was colorful leggings, homemade wreaths, Tupperware, or scents that are out of this world, the Ladies Luncheon at Ohio Northern had all of that and more.

Nine ladies, who are consultants or independent distributors, sold their wares at ONU Affinity Village on Saturday. They try to get together for a group show every other month in Bluffton, Ada, or a nearby town for the convenience of the shopper. And, they bring food for lunch which in itself is a treat.

The code now in existence for the 100th school year

At Bluffton University, students are held to a distinct system of accountability, one that permeates not only academic integrity, but all aspects of community life.

Bluffton is one of just 100 or so colleges and universities in the United States with an honor code.

Bluffton Icon sponsors two free showings of "It's A Wonderful Life" Nov. 24 at Shannon Theatre

If “It’s A Wonderful Life” is one of your all-time favorite Christmas movies, you are in luck.

Bluffton Icon will sponsor two free showings of the 1946 classic featuring the all-star cast of James Stewart, Donna Reed and Lionel Barrymore on Friday, Nov. 24, at the Shannon Theatre.

The free showings are at 1:30 and 4 p.m. and are a kickoff to the Blaze of Lights event that takes place the next day. The showings are also part of the Shannon Theatre's Customer Appreciation Weekend. Watch the Icon for more details on that event.

Council committee lists 2018 street maintenance schedule

Since 2015 the village of Bluffton and property owners have spent over $129,000 toward improving “walkabity” in town.

That statement, from the Bluffton council streets, alleys, lights and sidewalks committee, shows the efforts made here in improving sidewalks.

The committee met Nov. 13 and provided a report during the Nov. 15 council meeting.
