Onions, radishes, carrots, Asian greens, kohlrabi, pea, snow peas, sweet corn and green beans are starting to show up on Saturdays.

One of the suppliers of these fresh produce is first-year Bluffton Farmers’ Market vendor Hibner Family Farm of Wapakoneta. The farm is located in Clay Township of Auglaize County.

Vendor Doris Hibner says that she has five acres of land set aside for farm market produce sales.

In addition to vegetables, she offers several different herb plants, Steinke's raw unfiltered honey, and Waltz canned meats (beef and chicken).

“This year we have 500 tomato plants, which include heirloom, cherry and regular tomatoes. We’ll have lots of cucumber and yellow summer squash when they are in season,” she said.

She said that she uses natural practices for all her produce.

Bluffton Farmers’ Market is operated by the Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce. It is open Saturday mornings from 8:30 a.m. to noon in the Citizens National Bank parking lot on South Main Street.
