Oberly and Huber recognized for 70 years of legion membership
70 years.
The Bluffton American Legion Post 382 recently recognized two lifelong Bluffton men.
The two, Dale Huber and James Oberly, both World War II veterans, received special recognition representing 70 years of appreciation and membership from the legion, according to Dennis Morrison.
During the war, Huber, who turned 90 in December, served with a bomb removal unit in Germany. He is a retired farmer and retired owner of Specialty Foods of Ohio.
Oberly, 95, was in the Navy at the end of World War II. He is retired from Cooper Tire, Findlay. He will be 96 this fall.
