Don't let anyone tell you different - it's an art. Twenty women spent most of Valentine's Day 2011 practicing the art of knotting comforters. The work took place in First Mennonite Church Fellowship Hall.

The volunteers, from First Mennonite Church and Grace Mennonite, Pandora, get together two times a year to practice their art - once in October and again in February.

The comforters are donated to Mennonite Central Committee (MCC) for worldwide relief. On Feb. 14 approximately 15 comforters were knotted. Once sent to MCC the comforters could be sent nearly anywhere in the world.

"That's a low number (15), said Sarah Basinger, one of those helping. "We created 18 in October." The comforters are 60 by 80 inches. Each is filled with batting.
