Pirate boys golf 2nd in NWC quad-match

VAN WERT - The Bluffton High School boys golf team finished second in a very close and competitive Northwest Conference quadrangular match at Hickory Sticks Golf Course in Van Wert on Wednesday, August 27.
Lincolnview edged Bluffton in a fifth-man playoff after both teams ended up with a total score of 157. Allen East finished right behind them by just one stroke at 158, with Crestview last at 180.
Bluffton improved to 9-4 and 4-2 in NWC play with the results.
The Lancers improved to 11-1 overall and 6-1 in the NWC after winning the quad.
Allen East is 5-2 overall and 5-2 in the NWC, while Crestview fell to 5-11 and 1-7 in NWC play with the losses.
Grady Coonfare and Nick Lovett paced the Pirates by each registering a round of 39. The duo tied for first in the dual match score against Crestview with Knight Matthew Dealey.
Mustang ace Levi Clum was match medalist by firing a nine-hole round of 36. Teammate Brady Brooks was second with a 37 as AE posted the top two scores.
Lancer Seth Brant carded a 38.
Bluffton plays Saturday at Bellevue on the Wousickett Golf Course in Sandusky.
