The Bluffton High School boys basketball team remained first in the Northwest Conference by winning convincingly 63-43 at host Lincolnview in a league bout Friday night, January 21.
Kyler Kinn tallied 14 of his game-high 17 points in the first half to pace the Pirates to their 11th win in a row. He sank seven of 11 shots from the field.
Bluffton led 14-12 after one quarter, but seized a 32-19 halftime edge with a big 18-7 second quarter. The Pirates outscored the Lancers 31-24 in the second half to pull away methodically and post the win.
Bluffton Diamond Sports is currently accepting registrations for spring 2022 youth baseball and softball leagues.

The Lady Pirates improved to 13-4 overall and 3-2 in the NWC with the win. Lincolnview fell to 5-11 and 1-4 in the NWC with the loss.
Bluffton led 21-5 after the first period as senior Kylie Monday scored seven points. The Lancers rallied with a 19-12 second stanza behind seven points from Addysen Stevens.
Bluffton University has named Steve Bushre as its next head men’s soccer coach.
Bushre has coached at the collegiate level since 2015. He most recently served as an assistant coach at Indiana University East in Richmond, Ind., where Bushre was responsible for building a large recruiting class for the 2022 season. He also has experience coaching in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC), in which Bluffton competes, as a recruiting coordinator/assistant coach for Anderson University. Bushre began his college coaching career as an assistant at Taylor University where he created a junior varsity program.
Bushre will start head coaching duties at Bluffton on Feb. 1.
