Bluffton University to host baseball skills camps

The Bluffton University baseball team will host camps for young players wanting to improve their skills this summer.

A two-day camp takes place from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. on Monday, July 8, and Tuesday, July 9, for youth ages 9-13. Cost is $60.

Then on Wednesday, July 10, a camp for youth ages 13-15 will be held. This one-day camp costs $30.

Next cars and coffee event Saturday

Monthly gathering at Masterpiece Signs

Masterpiece Signs, 902 N. Main St., next Bluffton Cars and Coffee event is Saturday, June 22. 

The event is an “informal gathering for enthusiasts and their cars," said Tim Boutwell. The monthly cars and coffee event continues through October. It is always held on the fourth Saturday of the month.

Each event is from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. on the following Saturdays:  June 22, July 27, Aug. 24, Sept. 28 and Oct. 26.

Two fairy garden workshops at New Leaf, Ada, June 29

New Leaf Landscape and Garden Center, 0395 State Route 235, Ada, has openings in its fairy garden workshop.

The workshops start at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m., Saturday, June 29. Persons interested in attending either one may call or email for a spot, as space is limited.

The workshop will focus on creating a home for fairies in gardens. Participants may bring their own pot or container or purchase one at New Leaf.

The New Leaf staff will provide soil, and participants will purchase plants and accessories.

Still time to sign-up for softball and T-Ball

There’s still time to register for coed adult softball league and for T-ball, according to Daniel Tinch, executive director at Bluffton Family Recreation.

But, you’d better hurry.

The coed adult softball league sign-up deadline is Thursday, June 20.

The T-Ball registration sign-up deadline is Monday, June 24.

Registration may be made online at www.bfronline.com or by calling BFR at 419-358-4150. BFR is located at 215 Snider Road.

The website includes the complete list of summer leagues, camps and clinics.

Bluffton Area Relay for Hope - 4:30 p.m. to midnight

It’s Bluffton Area Relay for Hope weekend. All activities are free and open to the public.

Activities are from 4:30 p.m. to midnight, Friday, June 21, at Bluffton Family Recreation, 215 Snider Road. All proceeds go to the American Cancer Society.

This year’s relay is a family-friendly event and includes a range of activities, according to Lynda Best of the Relay committee.
