The achievements of more than 230 undergraduate and graduate students were celebrated on Sunday, May 7, during the 117th commencement ceremony at Bluffton University.

University food and nutrition major wins competitive scholarship

April Misamore earns selective internship

April Misamore, Bluffton University junior, a food and nutrition major from Findlay, recently received two back-to-back recognitions that emphasize the hard work and dedication she’s put into her academics.

Misamore earned a competitive, paid internship this summer at Purdue University and won the Ohio Nutrition Council Scholarship.

She will begin the internship after completing her cross-cultural experience in Chicago during the May-term.

All-Heartland Conference release

BLUFFTON, Ohio - The Bluffton University softball team had two of its members recognized when the All-Heartland Conference awards were announced on Wednesday, May 10. Emily Scupholm (Cuyahoga Falls/Our Lady of the Elms) and Jessie Madzia (Massillon/Tuslaw) were both named Honorable Mention All-HCAC. The Heartland Conference also announced the All-Sportsmanship Team.

It is one of the Bluffton community’s long-standing events - Bluffton University May Day and commencement. This year is number 117.

The tradition includes a musical, class reunions, May pole dance, king and queen coronation, art exhibits, a May Day run and walk, campus tours, a recital, baccalaureate service and graduation ceremony.

Bluffton University recognized many of its top students for their academic achievements at the annual Academic Awards and Honors Forum on April 25.
 
Thirty-five seniors were honored as distinguished scholars in their respective academic areas.

FRANKLIN, Ind. - The 2017 HCAC Track and Field Conference Championship ended Wednesday, May 3, on an unprecedented Day 3 following a change of venue due to the severe weather conditions over the weekend that postponed several events. Undaunted by rain, the Beavers traveled to Franklin College to compete in javelin and 10,000 meter races.
