ONU pharmacy students offer free medication check on April 2

Ohio Northern University pharmacy students will visit the Bluffton Senior Center for a free check of medications in April, according to Tonya Meyer of the Center.

The students and their professor will be at the Senior Center on Monday, April 2, at 10:30 a.m. They will give a brief presentation and will then meet one on one with anyone who wishes to check to make sure their prescription medications and over the counter vitamins and medications are not interacting with each other or duplicating benefits.

"The Hunger Games" shown at Shannon March 30 - April 5

Peter Suter of Shannon Theatre announced that "The Hunger Games" (PG-13) will be showing at the theatre from March 30 - April 5.

Show times follow:

Each evening at 7 and 9:30 PM with Saturday and Sunday matinees at 1:30 and 4 PM.

BHS class of 1971 class reunion June 9

The Bluffton High School class of 1971 will hold its 41 year class reunion on Saturday, June 9, at the Bluffton town hall, 3rd floor. Social hour begins at 5 p.m. with a meal following at 6 p.m. The cost of the meal is $14.00 per person. For reservations or questions, email to, [email protected].

"The Hunger Games" shown at Shannon March 23-29

Peter Suter of Shannon Theatre announced that "The Hunger Games" (PG-13) will be premiering at the theatre from March 23-29. There will be a midnight premiere on Friday morning 12:01 am. Tickets for the midnight show go on sale at 11 pm on Thursday, March 22.

Sixth grade strings rehearse for Friday's event

As they say "Get them while they're hot." Tickets are going fast for Friday's Bluffton Music Boosters chicken barbecue and shrimp dinner at the middle school.

The meals and music take place Friday, March 23, from 4:30 to 7 p.m. (or sell out) at the middle school cafetorium.

Tickets are now $7 each and are available at Greg's Pharmacy and at the middle school and high school offices. This year's meal includes one-half chicken (or seven pieces of shrimp), potato salad, applesauce, dinner roll and a drink.

Christian and Peter Schumacher families subject of Sunday Swiss program

Is there a Schumacher in your family tree? If so, here's an opportunity to obtain some family history.

On Sunday, an illustrated presentation is planned by the Swiss Community Historical Society's Intrepretation Committee about the Christian and Peter Schumacher family histories and their life at the Swiss homestead on Bixel Road.

The presentation is at 2:30 p.m., Sunday, March 25, in the Patio Room of Maple Crest Senior Living Village, Augsburger Road.
