The Swiss Community Historical Society's spring meeting is at 7 p.m., Sunday, April 19, at Maple Crest Patio Room.

One of the program's focus is the dulcimer.

According to Wendy Chappell-Dick:" The mountain dulcimer is truly an American original, first made and played in the Appalachian region. But did you know there is a direct linkage of this instrument to the early German immigrants to Pennsylvania, including Mennonites?

Letter: 50th anniversary celebration of BHS street painting this year

Icon Viewers:

This year marks the 50th anniversary of the "Painting of the Street" in front of the high school.  As one of the original "artists" I'm considering getting the band back together. We could just show up that day and enjoy the tradition that it has become; from it humble and clandestine beginnings.

I do not know the date of this year's festivities.  Can yIcon viewers help me with that?  Also, I have not mentioned this to the other band members.

Thanks for your help.
