Nepalese ceramic bud vases new items at Ten Thousand Villages

Items that have just arrived at Ten Thousand Villagess 115 S. Main St., Bluffton, include bud vases handcrafted in Nepal, according to Aphaphanh Nussbaum, store manager.

"Nepalese ceramics artisans use a traditional potter's wheel to shape each vesel by hand," she said. Vases are $12 each. For more information, open the attachment at the bottom of this story.

Bologna is not the only thing that comes from Bologna!  Sauce Bolognese is another favorite originating from that northern Italian town and it’s a dinner feature this weekend at Mustard Seed Café. 

Located at 562 N. Main Street, Bluffton, the café is open 5:00-8:00 on Friday and Saturday nights and offers features plus a full menu which includes 7 appetizers, 8 main course items, soups, salads and house-baked desserts.   Beer and beer cocktails are available.

Bob Green owned Bob's Barbership in Cairo

Robert "Bob"  E. Green, 75, of Cairo, died Feb. 17, 2014 at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima.  He was born May 26, 1938 in Lima to the late C. Henry and Louise Bowers Green. On December 12, 1959, he married Colleen Nichols and she survives.

Robert retired from Roundy's-Scot Lad, Lima. He and his wife also owned and operated Sugar Bucket Antiques. Bob also was owner/operator of Bob's Barber Shop, Cairo.

McDonald’s honors Lima employee with prestigious national award

Lima is home to one of 22 Crew Persons of the Year. Ted Boyd, of the N. West St. McDonald’s in Lima,  recently received the Crew Person of the Year Award, an annual performance-based award that recognizes the top performing crew in McDonald’s company-owned or independently-owned and operated restaurants. This award was established to honor hardworking crew employees—those who make founder Ray Kroc’s vision of excellence come to life in restaurants and for customers each day.
