Kaity King BHS December student of the month

Kaity King, Bluffton High School senior, is the December BHS student of the month. The daughter of Amy King and Alan King, Kaity carries a 3.874 grade point average.

Kaity is a member of the FCCLA (Family, Career, & Community Leading America) and is a cheerleader at Bluffton High School. She also cheers for All Star Cheerleading in Lima.

In her spare time she likes to quilt, help people, cheer and tumble.

Luther and Geneva Shetler's wedding anniversary cake has 75 candles

If a wedding anniversary cake is in order, it will have 75 candles.

Maple Crest Senior Living Village’s oldest married couple, Luther and Geneva Shetler, celebrate their 75th wedding anniversary on Dec. 22.

It was on Dec. 22, 1940, Luther, then 23, and Geneva, 21, were married at the Eighth Street Mennonite Church, Goshen, Ind. 

They met at Goshen College when Luther was a junior and Geneva a freshman.  Luther recalls that he was aware of a beautiful blond girl on campus, but that he had no reason to be connected with her group of friends.

57 Toys for Tots collected

The Bluffton Middle School Student Senate sponsored a Toys for Tots campaign and collected 57 new toys this season. 88 contestants competed in Bluffton Hospital's Race to Rudolph - here are the winners

Winners Announced in Bluffton Hospital’s First Race to Rudolph Walking Challenge

Bluffton Hospital’s first Race to Rudolph walking challenge held Nov. 2 through Dec. 18 was recently completed with 88 participants finishing their walking logs of 75 miles, the distance from Bluffton Hospital to Rudolph, Ohio and back.

Of those who completed their walking logs, the following were drawn as winners:
