Kleman boys lead Bluffton grapplers 

Bluffton hosts Allen County Invitational on Dec. 21

FINDLAY - Bluffton opened its 2019-20 wrestling campaign at the Findlay Trojan Duals last Saturday.

The Pirates ended up 14th out of 16 teams with a 1-4 record at the event. The Bluffton matmen finished ahead of Defiance and Elida.

The Pirates beat Elida 48-27 to register their dual win. They lost to Miami East 57-16; lost to Sandusky 40-24; and fell to Eaton 42-30 in the match for 13th place.

Thayne Kleman (106 lbs.) and Tayton Kleman (120 lbs.) each posted 4-1 records at the event to pace Bluffton.

D.A.R.E skate benefit Dec. 18

Edgewood Skate Arena’s Christmas Skate Benefit will be Wednesday, Dec. 18 from 6-8:30 p.m. to benefit the D.A.R.E. program.  

Admission is $3 and skate rental is $2-3.  Bring a non-perishable food item and receive a free soft drink. 

Prizes will be awarded, including a new pair of rollerskates to one boy and one girl in attendance.

The arena is located at 2170 Edgewood Dr., Lima.

Pin the snowman

Jason and Tammy Kinsinger purchase Vetter Lumber

With offices in Bluffton and Ft. Jennings

A Bluffton business changed hands earlier this fall as Jason and Tammy Kinsinger announce their purchase of Vetter Lumber of Bluffton and Ft. Jennings.

Known as “your hometown lumberyard,” locations are 501 Harmon Road, Bluffton, and 235 N. Water St., Ft. Jennings.

Kinsinger has a background in construction and stone quarry management. He worked with his father, Mark Kinsinger, for several years in house construction and remodeling. For the past seven years he operated Putnam Aggregates, Ottawa.

She is one of the first people to greet Bluffton newborns

Dr. Jessica Aderman, pediatric hospitalist at Bluffton Hospital

Dr. Jessica Aderman, D.O., is one of the first people to greet newborns at Bluffton Hospital.

Joining the staff on Nov. 11, Dr. Aderman is the second pediatric hospitalist at Bluffton. She and Dr. Jennifer Hohman, M.D., share duties of meeting each Bluffton Hospital newborn within 24 hours of birth.

In addition to Drs. Aderman and Hohman, Dr. Darrel Hotmire, D.O., Bluffton physician, also provides some newborn care at the hospital.

Thursday tech cred information session at Apollo

Apollo Career Center will host a Tech Cred Information session, Thursday, Dec. 12, 9:30 a.m. – 12 p.m., in the Apollo Fred D. Goare Room. Over 40 businesses from around the state will be in attendance.

Presenters from Apollo Career Center Adult Education, The Ohio State University, Rhodes State College and UNOH will be sharing information with businesses about their training programs, as well as explaining how the State of Ohio’s Tech Cred program works.
