Christmas for Kids Saturday in Jenera

Christmas for Kids will be held at Trinity Lutheran School, 105 Allen St., Jenera, Saturday, Dec. 14, from 11:45-3:30 p.m.

The theme is "The Angels of Christmas." A free lunch will start the event and the afternoon will provide children in pre-school through 4th grade an opportunity to hear the message of Christmas, along with Christmas crafts, music, refreshments and fun.

Winners from this year's Blaze of Lights parade announced

The Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce announces the following float winners from this year's Blaze of Lights parade, according to Paula Scott, CEO.

The winners are:

  1. Tri-County Family Assembly of God
  2. Citizens National Bank
  3. Bluffton Dari Freeze

The Chamber prize goes to St. Mary's Christian Preschool.

The mayor's prize goes to Bluffton Child Development Center's float.

Village accepting bids on two farm cash lease properties

Jesse Blackburn, village administrator, announced that the village is accepting sealed bids on two of its properties. Each bid is a three-year farm cash lease.

Village council are receiving sealed bids for a 3-year farm cash lease for agricultural use at town hall, 154 N. Main St., P.O. Box 63, until 11 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 27. The bids are for the following properties:

Jefferson Street Phase II on track for 2020

Several year-end legislative pieces okayed by council

Bluffton council passed several pieces of legislation on Monday as end-of-the-year requirements necessitated.

Among action included:
• Final resolution to move ahead with the Jefferson Street Improvement, Phase II
• Emergency resolution to proceed with a Johnny Appleseed Metro Park grant
• Approval of a resolution to submit an airport matching grant
• Passage of a temporary 2020 appropriations – Jan. 1 to March 30
