4 locations on Saturday's Riley Creek Old Time Christmas Tour

The fifth annual Riley Creek Old Time Christmas Tour is from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 7. Four locations are on this year's tour.

Participates include:
• Bridenbaugh one-room school
  14022 Road 6, Pandora (corner Road 6 and M6)
• McCullough Log Cabin
  14503 Road 6, Pandora
• Red Fox Cabin
  1/8th mile north of 14321 Road 7-L, Pandora
• Riley Creek United Methodist Church

Bluffton girls whip Musketeers

Pirates ran out to a 47-18 halftime bulge and cruised to victory

FT. JENNINGS - The visiting Bluffton girls basketball team built a big early lead and easily beat winless Fort Jennings 63-44 in a non-league game this past Saturday afternoon.

The Lady Pirates ran out to a 47-18 halftime bulge and cruised to victory.

The Pirate girls improved to 2-1 with the blowout victory, while FJ fell to 0-4 with the defeat.

The victors ran out to a 23-12 lead after one period. Bluffton then put the game away with a season-best 24-point second stanza while limiting FJ to just six points.

Meet the new town crier

Kevin Gratz joined a fabled list of Bluffton Blaze of Lights town criers. He announced the Blaze parade, provided information about the event the the staging area, read the Christmas story from Luke 2, and helped see that the Ream Holiday Folk Art display lights were turned on for 2019. Previous town criers include John George and Nelson Steiner.

20 semi-private rooms converted to private rooms at MHCO

Allowing greater number of residents to have private accommodations 

As a result of recommendations from a recent market study, the Mennonite Home Communities of Ohio Board of Directors has decided to convert a portion its semi-private rooms to private rooms at two of its Skilled Nursing Facilities – Mennonite Memorial Home in Bluffton and Hilty Home in Pandora. 

In all, 20 semi-private rooms across MHCO campuses were converted to private rooms effective Dec. 1, allowing a greater number of  residents to enjoy private accommodations.

Bluffton's newest 1950-era industry

Do you know where this building stands today? It was originally Bluffton's Ex-Cell-O plant. There, its employees produced machines that created paper milk cartons.

Today it is Diamond Manufacturing and it stands at the corner of Jefferson Street and the County Line Road.
