HANOVER, Ind. - The Bluffton University men's soccer team battled to a 0-0 tie at the break, but Hanover netted four tallies in the second period for a 4-0 victory on Saturday, Oct, 15. Bluffton fell to 3-11 on the season with a 0-5 mark in the Heartland Conference, while Hanover improved to 11-3 and 4-1 in the HCAC.,

Matthew Eldridge broke through in the 58th minute, putting Hanover up 1-0 before a flurry of goals made the score 4-0 with just over 11 minutes to play.

HANOVER, Ind. - The Hanover College women's soccer team was too much for Bluffton University, rolling to a 12-0 shutout of the Beavers on Saturday, Oct. 15, 2016. Bluffton dropped to 0-10 overall and 0-5 in the Heartland Conference, while the Panthers improved to 7-5 on the season and 4-1 in the HCAC.

Members of the Bluffton High School class of 1949 met on Oct. 1 for their class 67th reunion.

The reunion took place at St. John's United Church of Christ, Bluffton.

Chris Keller, chief administrative officer of Bluffton Hospital, shared information with Bluffton chamber members on The Women's Center at Bluffton Hospital. The $4.5 million project should be completed by next spring. More details here.

Mary Moyer Criblez, 71, died Oct. 13, 2016, following a stroke, 10 years to the week of the death of her husband, Thomas L. Criblez of Bluffton.

She was born March 8, 1945, in Lima to Adrian and Beulah (Roberts) Moyer who preceded her in death. Her sister, Janice Kuldau also preceded her in death.

All kind of learning experiences in October at Bluffton elementary

A field trip to the Lima Symphony, Red Ribbon Week, book fair and a trip to Kewpee are event on the Bluffton elementary school calendar in October.

ELEMENTARY BOOK FAIR: Book Fair begins Monday, Oct. 24.  Daily hours will be 8 a.m. until  p.m. Monday-Thursday and 8 a.m. until p.m. on Friday.  Family Night are Tuesday, Oct. 25 from 6 until 8 p.m.
