$16,250 awarded to 2011 Henry P. Huber Scholarships
The Henry P. Huber Scholarship Committee has announced the recipients of the 2011-2012 Huber Scholarship grants.
Greg Denecker, Superintendent of Bluffton Schools and a member of the scholarship committee, reports a total of $16,250.00 was awarded to 11 students.
The Scholarships are for students planning to major in vocational agriculture, or related fields of study.
This year's scholarship recipients are as follows. An asterisk indicates the student was a Huber Scholarship recipient last year also.
Elizabeth Fischbach, 2011 Buffton graduate receives $1,250 to attend The Ohio State University.
Cassandra Frantz, 2009 Cory-Rawson graduate receives $1,250 to attend University of Findlay.
Mark Inbody, 2011 Cory-Rawson graduate receives $1,250 to attend University of Kentucky.
Phillip Long, 2006 Cory-Rawson graduate receives $2,500 to attend Purdue University.
Luke Karahoff, 2011 Pandora-Gilboa graduate receives $1,250 to attend The University of Northwestern Ohio.
Matthew Karhoff, 2010 Pandora-Gilboa graduate receives $1,250 to attend the The Ohio State University.
Alexis Moser, 2011 Cory-Rawson graduate receives $1,250 to attend Wilmington College.
David Schulte, 2010 Pandora-Gilboa graduate receives $1,250 to attend the The Ohio State University.
Laura Spallinger, 2010 Bluffton graduate receives $1,250 to attend The University of Findlay.
Caleb VonStein, 2010 Cory-Rawson graduate receives $1,250 to attend University of Northwest Ohio.
Amanda Wagner,* 2005 Cory-Rawson graduate receives $2,500 to attend The Ohio State University of Veterinary Medicine.
The Huber Scholarship is now in its 31st year of existence. Henry P. Huber was a farmer and businessman in Bluffton who died in 1977 leaving money to be used for educational activities outside the public school system in the area of agriculture and agricultural-related industries.
Huber Scholarship Committee members are Greg Denecker, Superintendent of Bluffton Exempted Village Schools, Mike Romey of Citizens National Bank and Donald Overmyer, former Bluffton High School Vocational Agriculture teacher.
