Donald Wymer 1938-2012
Donald Keith Wymer, 73, of Mt. Cory, died at 10:22 p.m. on
Monday, Jan. 9, 2012, at his residence. Donald was born to the late
Howard and Pauline (Baney) Wymer in North Baltimore, on Jan. 30, 1938.
He married Eldora Kain in 1957, and they later divorced. In 1977, he married Erma Orians and they later divorced. On May 19, 1984, he married Marilyn (Welch) Wymer and she survives.
He is also survived by a daughter, Belinda "Buffy" (Andy) Sterling of Findlay; stepchildren: Linda Fisher of Jackson Center, David Joe (Tammy) Hatch of Findlay, Susan (Richard) Smith of Las Vegas, Barbara (Bruce) Alge of Jenera, and Robert (Michelle) Vanderhoff of Rock Hill, S.C.; 23 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by a son, Kevin Keith Wymer and a daughter, Beth Anne Wymer.
He was a 1956 graduate of Findlay High School. He served in the U.S. Army in Germany in 1962. He worked for and retired from Hercules Tire and Rubber Company in 2000 after 17 years of service.
He belonged to the Mt. Cory United Methodist Church, where he sang in the choir and sang with the "Gospel Four" Quartet. He was a 50 year member of Masonic Lodge #418 in Mt. Cory and the Valley of Toledo Scottish Rite. He also belonged to the Order of the Eastern Star #550 of Rawson and the Bluffton Senior Citizen Center, where he was president of the board.
Visitation will be from 1-8 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 12, at Coldren-Crates Funeral Home, Findlay, where a Masonic service will begin at 7:30 p.m. followed by an Eastern Star service.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 13, at the funeral home. Pastor Gerald D. Lewis will officiate and burial will follow in Harman Cemetery, Gilboa, where full military rites will be conducted by the Hancock County Veterans Memorial Squad.
