Several non-profit organizations benefit from Lima Rotary Foundation grants
The Lima Rotary Foundation will present its quarterly grants to eight non-profit agencies on Monday, Aug. 5 at noon during the weekly Rotary Club meeting, held at the City Club, 144 S. Main St.
The Lima Symphony Orchestra will receive $864 to provide tickets for Marimor students and their families; $1,000 to sponsor the Young People’s Concert; and $1,500 to fund the KidStuff Program at the Lima Public Library.
Equestrian Therapy Program will receive $1,000 to assist with programming, including a new program for at-risk students.
Mobility Foundation will receive $500 to fund its medical adaptive equipment program & education programming.
Coleman Behavioral Health will receive $500 to purchase equipment & furnishings for Changing Seasons, which is a safe place for chronically mentally ill individuals and the homeless/low income to come for socialization and referral services.
Big Day of Serving will receive $500 to help with the Sept. 21 event in which 450 volunteers will complete 90 projects for homeowners on the east side of Lima.
Children’s Development Center will receive $674 to purchase an iPad App used for teaching children with Autism Spectrum Disorders and other communication disorders.
West Central Ohio Autism Community will receive $800 to purchase iPads for two students enrolled in the Allen County Education Service Center’s Great Day Academy.
Rally Point Youth Center will receive $500 to provide teenagers in the Brower Road area with an after school program that is drug and alcohol free.
Representatives from the agencies will be at the meeting to receive their grants.
The Lima Rotary Foundation awards grants quarterly, and any non-profit agency in Allen County is encouraged to apply.
The purpose of the Rotary Foundation is to accept and accumulate funds and then to distribute them to help promote health, welfare, happiness and education for the development of men, women, children, and in particular, the less fortunate, regardless of race, religion or creed.
