"Moe" Cockrell was a veteran of the Korean Conflict
Moses "Moe" H. Cockrell, 82, died June 15, 2015, at Mennonite Memorial Home, Bluffton.
He was born Feb. 1, 1933, in Mashulaville, Miss., to the late Les and Ethel (Conn) Cockrell. On Feb. 14, 1953, he married Thelma Sidebottom Cockrell who survives.
He retired from the Lima Ford Engine Plant. He served in the Army during the Korean Conflict.
Survivors also include a son Neil (Joe Kershner) Cockrell of Jacksonville, North Carolina; three daughters Debra (Jerry) Blackburn of Jenera, Penny (Kenny) Cheney of Calumet, Michigan, Daughter, Rae (David) Teall of Dublin; two step daughters Katherine Hall and Della (Thomas) Starcher both of Vermillion; 10 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; two brothers Ray (Peggy) Cockrell and Will (Dorothy) Cockrell both of Louisville, Mississippi; and a sister, Doris (Charles) Smith of Louisville, Mississippi.
He was preceded in death by a son, Billy H Cockrell; a brother, Les Cockrell, Jr.; and a sister Thelma Smith.
A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Bluffton. Pastors Michael Downey and Sam Wireman officiating.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 5 p.m.- 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or Mennonite Memorial Home.
