Harold Raid Endowed Chair explores emotional intelligence in colloquium

Dr. George Lehman, Howard Raid professor of business at Bluffton University, will present a colloquium on emotional iontelligence and its use to achieve personal and occupational success January 15 at the university.

His presentation is free and open to the public beginning at 4 p.m. in Centennial Hall’s Stutzman Lecture Hall.

For decades, organizations have used variants of standard IQ measurement as a key way of predicting individual success in a wide range of fields.  However, in the 1990s, the concept of emotional intelligence was developed as an alternative understanding of factors that lead to career success.  Dr. Lehman will speak about the four basic components of EI and discuss the use of peer feedback as a key metric in assessing and developing emotional intelligence.
